Meanwhile I wrote two more assignments and read a lot of texts for my classes, but I didn’t forget that I wanted to post something about the Guu restaurant. Thank you, Lorena and Laura, for the videos and pictures. And thank you all for this great (and expensive…) evening! This restaurant is amazing.
Guuu is a Japanese restaurant. You can’t do a reservation for this restaurant, you have to wait outdoors until other people come out and a table is free. Sometimes you have to wait for hours, we “only” had to wait about 45 minutes. Anyway, standing in line and waiting for something doesn’t me surprise anymore, it is part of Canadian culture…
As long as you’re standing outdoors, you expect a normal restaurant where you can eat something. As soon as the door opens, you here lot of people screaming. As you enter the restaurant, you know why they are screaming: they are welcoming you! The whole restaurant is welcoming every new guest! And saying goodbye to every guest leaving. The people with the loudest voices are the people working in this restaurant. They are screaming and waving all the time, but on the same time they are cooking, writing bills and taking orders. Amazing. The whole restaurant is amazing. The music is loud, the people are even louder, the food is tasty and funny, the beer is good and not too expensive. I can understand that people are waiting so long to enter this restaurant.
