2013/11/08: Brampton and Mississauga

What’s the largest city in Canada (by census)?
Yes, correct, Toronto.

The second largest?
Yes, right, Montréal.

The third largest?
No, it’s Calgary. Vancouver is only number 8!

Maybe the biggest surprise in this list is the 6th largest city: Mississauga! 713,443 inhabitants in 2011. It used to be a suburb of Toronto, today it is larger than Winnipeg and Vancouver!

Number 9 on the list is Brampton, another city in the Greater Toronto Area, with 523,911 inhabitants.

It is no problem at all to visit Canada’s largest, 6th largest and 9th largest cities between a seminar in the morning and a lecture in the evening(Hamilton, number 10 on the list, would be only a little detour). That’s what I did a few days ago. As the trip was quite spontaneous, I didn’t have the good camera with me, so here are some cell phone pictures…
